Are wealthy people obliged to use their wealth for the good of others?

There are two somewhat conflicting opinions when it comes to the wealthy: they are either greedy narcissists who manipulate and abuse their privilege to preserve their wealth or they are the ones who are beyond reproach; after all, they've shrewdly and deftly earned their fortunes. What if the truth is somewhere in the middle, which would acknowledge their hard work, but also place a moral obligation on the stewardship of said wealth?
