Are persons smart but people dumb?

We've all experienced a person who seems to be one way when they are by themselves, but transform into a completely different person when they are a part of a group. Why does the presence of peers negatively affect a person's intelligence? JC and B-Mic Roc OD on if persons are smart but people dumb.
